The launch has taken place of the seventh Annual Vodafone Mayo AC 5k series of five races. The 2016 series will start on Tuesday, May 24 and continue weekly on the following four Tuesdays, all at 8pm sharp. Mayo AC are delighted once again to have the sponsorship of Vodafone C&C Cellular for the Series. Brendan Chambers was on hand to launch the series and continues to give great support to athletics in the county. The series also serves as a major fundraiser for the club.
These evening races have proved to be a tremendous success in recent years with numbers increasing year on year, and are a great opportunity to achieve personal goals in a relaxed environment.
All races will be officially chip-timed by www.myrunresults.com The schedule for the series is May 24 Ballyhunis, May 31 Brickens, June 7, Claremorris, June 14, Ballinrobe, June 21 Castlebar. Entry costs €30 for 4 or 5 races, €25 for three races or €10 per race. You can register online at www.myrunresults.com or enter with Fit4LifeGroup at Ballyhaunis, Claremorris or Castlebar on the week beginning May 16. Entry on race evening will be open until cut off at 7.45pm toe nable 8pm sharp start. The series is open to all, but with an emphasis on Fit4Life runners, joggers, and walkers. Local athletic clubs and fitness groups are very welcome.All courses are AAI measured /permitted, well marshaled and will have a with finish line time clock. The courses provide a variety challenges and offer participants a great opportunity to record a better time each week. You are strongly encouraged to take part in all five.The emphasis is on fun - first man/women finisher in each race will be recognised.
