Nominations for this year’s Midlands Gateway Chamber’s Best in Business Awards are now being sought. Hosted by the Midlands Gateway Chamber these annual awards, now in their fifth year, celebrate excellence, and innovation in businesses all across the Midlands region.

Westmeath has been applauded for its impressive and varied line-up for Culture Night 2011 which has more than 80 events lined up for the All Ireland festival taking place on September 23.

Plans are under way for what is hoped will be another successful Services and Information Open Day to support people with disabilities, which will take place this year at the Mullingar Park Hotel on Friday October 22. This event is going from strength to strength each year and this is the third time an event of its kind has been organised.

Mullingar has been chosen as the fourth location in the Lakelands and Inlands region to host an open day, showcasing what is on offer in the area and is organised by Fáilte Ireland, Waterways Ireland, and Westmeath County Council.

Locals and visitors alike are being encouraged to come out and enjoy an afternoon of free activities with fun for all the family at this weekend’s Discover Mullingar Day on Sunday September 27.
