William Evans (1798-1877) was the drawing master of Eton College in England, an accomplished artist who exhibited widely in London, Dublin and Paris. He made a number of visits to the west of Ireland in 1835 and 1838 where he produced many finished watercolours and studies, mostly of Counties Galway and Mayo. His subject matter varied from panoramic landscapes to market and street scenes, and what might be called peasant structures and peasant portraits. He painted a lot in Conamara, especially in the vicinity of Renvyle and was among the very first artists to show off this wild remote area in his pictures.

A 68-year relationship between an artist and a gallery is rare, but that is how long the painter Kenneth Webb and Kenny’s have been working together.

Beechmount Art Studio is going from strength to strength by expanding to offer classes in the new location of The Glassroom in Brazco Coffee Academy, Oranmore. The multi award winning Lackagh based art studio has grown considerably since it opened in August 2014 and now offers a wide and varied range of adult classes including oil, acrylic, drawing, and watercolour classes.

Beechmount Art Studio is going from strength to strength after winning the Arts, Tourism and Sport category in the recent SCCUL Awards 2016, and founder Aisling Kearney Burke is focusing on the new term, which launches the beginning of April and the upcoming Easter Art camp.
