Works to replace over 1.5km of aged and damaged water mains in Rosscahill West have commenced. This project has been prioritised as part of Uisce Éireann ’s national Leakage Reduction Programme which is delivering a more secure and reliable water supply to communities right across Ireland.

Galway homes and businesses can look forward to a more reliable water supply with water mains works due to begin in the coming days.

Irish Water, working in partnership with Galway City Council and Galway County Council, have successfully decommissioned and replaced problematic and old cast iron water mains in Forster Park and Cedarwood Close in Galway City and in Lemonfield, Oughterard.

Irish Water, working in partnership with Mayo County Council, is replacing approximately one kilometre of old and damaged watermains in Ballina and Killala that were prone to frequent bursts and leakage, which caused water supply disruptions for customers in the area. The mains are being replaced with new high density polyethylene (plastic) pipes.
