Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre has announced its schedule of events for the summer of 2014. Now in its sixth year of greeting visitors and enthralling the public, the visitor centre, which is located in Ballycroy village, is a hive of activity. Open daily from 10am to 5.30pm, the team are delighted to offer this varied selection of activities which cater for all ages and abilities. Bat enthusiasts will be pleased to know that on Saturday August 16, there will be an illustrated talk on bats held in Coole Park and Wildlife reserve, Co Galway. The talk commences at 8.30pm and will be followed shortly afterwards by a bat detecting walk throughout the grounds of Coole.

THE Spring element of the Coole Park Cultural Programme was launched this week and includes a wide range of lectures as well as performances by singer songwriter Julie Feeney and All-Ireland talent show star Emma O'Sullivan.

The spring programme of cultural and heritage events will get under way at Coole Park later this month, with the official launch of the programme taking place on Tuesday.
