Galway City Council’s returnable coffee cup scheme has gained a new partner with Brazco Coffee Academy in Leisureland becoming café number ten in the scheme. Customers who ‘Use Your Mug!’ pay €2 to ‘borrow’ a fresh reusable cup, which can be returned or refunded in any participating café – saving the hassle of washing between use.

Galway City Council is now taking entries for the Galway City Tidy Towns and Garden Competition 2022, with some changes to previous years. The Residential areas category will now be the main focus of the competition with Residents Associations in each of the 3 sections taking away a prize fund of €300. In addition, the public and commercial buildings category will be replaced by one overall winner instead of the many sub categories previously.

Entrants must be based in Galway City and can enter across categories such as ‘Best Front Garden’, ‘Best Residential Estate’, ‘Best Shop-front’, ‘Best Community Project’ and ‘Best School’.
