It was a day for the buyer at O’Donnellan & Joyce’s packed auction room in the Harbour Hotel, Galway, last Friday, April 17. It was the company’s second auction of the year, and the seventh in 15 months, where excellent value for money was on offer for more than 500 eager buyers who generated €3.2m in property sales from lots presented from Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and throughout Connacht.

A total of €1m was awarded to 22 Galway people who sustained injuries in workplace accidents last year.

The Institute of Project Management recently published its ninth annual survey of project management practitioners in Ireland. Mayo County Council has recorded a small surplus of just under €55,000 so far this year on its budget income and expenditure for the first six months of the year. Head of Finance for Mayo County Council, Peter Duggan gave the elected members a half-yearly update on the financial standing of the council at the July meeting of the authority last Monday. The council had adopted a budgeted spend of €120,085,841 for the year and up to the end of June, they had spent €55,287,675 and taken in €55,342,619.
