Galway primary school teachers reminded to register for the Blue Star Programme

Primary school teachers in Galway are being invited this week to register for the Blue Star Programme. In its 14th year, the award-winning programme teaches children about the European Union. To date, more than 1,200 schools and an estimated 200,000 pupils have completed the programme, with 18 schools in Galway participating last year.

Historic changes are afoot at St Patrick’s Primary School, Lombard Street, Galway, as for the first time in its illustrious history the school is now enrolling girls. Traditionally St Pat’s enrolled boys only from second to sixth class, but is embracing changes to respond to the rapidly evolving needs of education in a modern, cosmopolitan, city. This includes the introduction of infant and junior classes.
