Common cranes successfully breed on Bord na Mona rewetted peatlands

Common cranes which set up home on a rewetted Bord na Móna Midlands peatland earlier this year successfully hatched two baby chicks in May, the first recorded birth of Crane chicks in Ireland in over 300 years.

At last...some rain for the soil!

Although it was lovely to bask in the glorious and seemingly endless sun shine of early summer this year, the rain that we’ve had was well overdue and now we need more of it!
