SINÉAD HYNES is a closed book emotionally. She is not inclined to share what goes on inside her with her husband Alex, and only with difficulty with herself. For her, it is easier to lie in hospital, claiming she has respiratory illness, than to tell him the truth.

At what age did you start playing? I think I was about 7 when I started with the club in Oughterard. I played with the underage boys team until I was about 12.

It’s going to be pretty special when grand-parents get reunited with their much loved grandchildren (my own parents can’t wait to cuddle my son Seán, who they’ve been missing these last few weeks). "Here in Dallas county, I am working from home. They have ordered a shelter in place for all residents so I won’t be back in my office before April 5. We are allowed to go to the supermarket, walk dogs, and exercise outside but even then people are walking five people wide on paths. All I do is work at home and then go for a jog in the evening to clear my head.
