Mayo Public Participation Network (PPN) in collaboration with The Climate Action Office in Mayo County Council will highlight the work of community groups around Mayo to mark St Patrick's Day in a bid to help keep the planet green.

With a four day holiday programme planned for the end of September, visitors this autumn can enjoy a weekend long family-friendly food festival in Ballina and North Mayo, showcasing the best of Mayo food and drink, to coincide with Failte Ireland's recently launched Taste the Island Experience, a celebration of Ireland’s food and drink culture.

A return to the festival’s river roots, an extensive, exciting children’s programme and a nod to nostalgia, are just three of the highlights awaiting visitors to Ballina for the 54th Ballina Salmon Festival.

The campaign to establish a River Moy Trust is to gain momentum with the hosting of an information evening in Ballina’s Mount Falcon Hotel on Sunday, November 29, from 7pm to 9pm. The initiative is being co-ordinated by the River Moy Catchment Association, a voluntary group that represents stakeholders committed to improving the ecology, fisheries, and wildlife of all waterways in the Moy catchment.
