This Voices for Change conference takes place in Breaffy House, Castlebar, this weekend, starting this evening, Friday, and will carry on tomorrow, Saturday. The conference will explore the policies and agenda for government for those who are an alternative to FG/FF/Labour. The opening session, titled ’Rescuing Town and Country from The Two Tier Economy’, will also highlight the political culture that has allowed vested interests and political patronage to converge against the common good, and how to undo that, particularly in the areas of renewable energy, water, housing, and regional imbalances.

RENUA Ireland have announced that their Mayo candidate in the forthcoming General Election will be Michael Farrington. Mr Farrington, who is based in the Mayo East area of the constituency, said in the wake of his nomination that his objective was to build on the strengths this unique part of the country has.

Renua Ireland Mayo will be discussing its recent pre-budget submission at a public information meeting which will be held at The Twin Trees Hotel, Ballina, at 7.30pm on Tuesday October 20. The principal speaker will be Billy Timmins, TD for Wicklow-East Carlow and Deputy Leader of Renua Ireland.

On October 5, Renua Ireland formally launched its pre-budget submissions in Dublin’s Royal Irish Academy. Renua Ireland Mayo will be presenting and discussing these dramatic and game changing proposals at a public information meeting at 8pm on Tuesday, October 13 at the Knock House Hotel, Knock.
