This Sunday will see the Premier League season of 2019/20 brought to conclusion, 353 days after it kicked off on August 9 2019. It is unlikely that many would have foretold what the campaign would entail when Michael Oliver blew his whistle to open proceedings at Anfield last year but we are nearly there and what a day we have in store.

Game week 35 came to a close on Monday night with a strike from Irish striker Michael Obafemi in the 96th minute to dent Man United's Champions League aspirations. The round saw plenty of upsets and action with West Ham, Watford, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa earning crucial wins in the fight against relegation, Sheffield United and Wolves clawing their back into European contention and Norwich City being confirmed as the first team to succumb to the drop.

Game week nine's action came to an end with Arsenal's old frailties coming to the fore as they went down 1-0 to Sheffield United in south Yorkshire. Elsewhere, Man United produced a much improved display to earn a 1-1 draw against league leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford, Leicester extended their fine form with another three points via a 2-1 victory over Burnley, and Spurs' woes continued limping to a 1-1 home draw against bottom placed Watford.

Three rounds done and dusted and it is only Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool that still maintains a 100 per cent record in the Premier League after a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Week two of the Premier League is over and it seems the big boys might not have it all their own way this season.

The Premier League came back with a bang last weekend.

What a week of European football; Man City and Spurs played a game for the ages which saw the London side squeeze through on away goals; Ajax rolled back the years to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus in Turin; and Barcelona and Liverpool emphatically dispatched Man United and Porto respectively.

What a weekend of Premier League action that was.

And so round 27 of the Premier League came to an end with champions Chelsea getting back to winning ways over bottom of the table West Brom.

And so round 24 of the Premier League came to an end with Alfie Mawson's strike securing a vital three points for Swansea City as they downed Liverpool on Monday night.
