iConnect acquires Screenway with the creation of 20 jobs
iConnect, Ireland’s Apple approved premium reseller has announced that it has acquired Galway company Screenway to roll out its Education arm in Ireland. The deal will see iConnect retain ten employees and create twenty new full-time Education Specialists positions expanding out of Galway and operating nationwide.

Podium for Duffy in Cyprus

Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah is used to driving under pressure, but he and Italian co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini were pushed all the way to the finish of a thrilling Qatar International Rally, the opening round of the 2014 Middle East Rally Championships, by fellow countryman Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari and Mayo’s Killian Duffy on Friday and Saturday last. Separated by just 5.5 seconds at the start of the second day, Al-Attiyah pressed home a slight advantage once Al-Kuwari and Mayo navigator Killian Duffy suffered a drive shaft breakage. His winning margin was 30.1 seconds from Al-Kuwari and Duffy who finished in second place.
Portwest expects to create fifty new jobs out of Gulf deal
The recent trade mission to the Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton saw good news for Mayo with the announcement of a deal involving Westport based Portwest. The company which specialises in the design and manufacture of high performance work wear has recently established a distribution centre in the UAE, where it services the Middle East and African markets. This new deal is expected to create up to 50 new jobs in the company headquarters in Westport.
