Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) is now a QS* five star university having achieved the highest possible number of accolades to become one of the top-rated universities in the world.

NUI Galway continues to perform strongly in the QS World University Rankings, ranked 259th this year out of the world’s top 1,000 universities considered in this year’s QS ranking, maintaining its position among the world’s elite educational institutions. NUI Galway now ranks third in Ireland, the top Irish university outside Dublin, and 112th in Europe.

NUI Galway is the only Irish institution to improve its standing in the QS World University Rankings 2014-2015, rising four places to 280th place in this year’s league table.

Academics and employers gathered to announce the world’s top universities in 30 individual disciplines as part of the 2013 QS World University Rankings by Subject. And NUI Galway, along with eight other Irish institutions appeared on the list of the world’s top 200 universities. And considering that some 678 third level education facilities were ranked in total, Galway’s overall positioning should boost its credentials as a university worth attending.

For the third consecutive year, NUI Galway has increased its position in the QS World University Rankings. Rising 11 places to 232nd in this year’s ranking, NUI Galway is one of only two Irish universities to move up the league table.
