Details of In Humbert’s Footsteps, Mayo’s flagship Gathering event, were unveiled at a public meeting in Castlebar on Wednesday night.

The GAA Oral History Project aims to record the fullest possible picture of what the GAA has meant to the Irish people, in their own words. To date the response from Mayo has been very good and in the final stage of the project the object is to get as many people as possible from around the county to complete and return a questionnaire. Castlebar Mitchels GAA Club this week announced, as part of its programme of events to celebrate its 125th anniversary, it is launching a special limited edition set of Christmas cards for sale, the proceeds of which are going to a nominated local charity, namely, the Sacred Heart Hospital in Castlebar.
