O'Loughlin Gaels remain on course for automatic qualification to the knockout stages of the 2011 championship with a good win over Tullaroan at the weekend. Again the O'Loughlin’s talisman was Mark Bergin who scored an impressive 12 points. There were some very good performance all around the field for O'Loughlin’s including those from Niall Bergin and Martin Comerford.

Under 12s and under 14 B team

O'Loughlin Gaels displayed excellent fighting spirit to overcome a gallant Erin's Own in round two of the 2011 St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Championship, played in Ballyragget on Friday last. O'Loughlin’s started very slowly. They were unsure and were like a team a bit off the pace.

The O'Loughlin Gaels under 14 team retained their Kilkenny Feile na nGael championship title last weekend in Thomastown. O'Loughlin’s played four matches on the way to the final, beating John Lockes of Callan, Thomastown, Clara and Freshford en route. In the final they met city rivals James Stephens.

Two under 8 and two under 9 teams from O'Loughlin Gaels travelled to the annual Roanmore Hurling Tournament, in Waterford City, last Saturday. Each team played three matches of ground hurling. This type of game made for excellent battles in all matches and was really exciting for the large attendance.

The all conquering O’Loughlin Gaels under 13 team followed up their victory in the Lisdowney 7s by winning the Kilmacud Crokes, All-Ireland 7 a side, hurling tournament last weekend.

The Junior hurling semi-final between O’Loughlin Gaels and Bennettsbridge last Sunday in Nowlan Park was a hurling display of great skill and physicality.

The senior club hurling semi-final between Ballyhale Shamrocks and O’Loughlin Gaels last weekend left the ‘Gaels men disappointed as the Shamrocks pushed forward into the final against James Stephens.
