The Pillar House Folk Club, Ballinasloe’s firmly established intimate 80 seat venue, will play host to Eleanor McEvoy on Friday April 17 and Freddie White on Friday May 15.

THE GALWAY Music Residency will present Irish guitarist John Feeley at its next lunchtime concert on Tuesday in the Town Hall Theatre. Feeley will be performing a selection of works by J S Bach; Adagio and Fugue from Violin Sonata No 1 in G minor (BWV 1001), Cello Suite No 1 in G major (BWV 1007), and Chaconne in D minor from Partita no 2, (BWV 1004). He will preface the performance with a short talk about the music.

Kilkenny guitarist Michael O’ Toole is bringing his music closer to home this week when he appears at the GB Shaw Theatre in the Visual Link Gallery. This is a unique and intimate environment to enjoy an evening of music for this very special Music Network concert. 

This year one of the open events, ‘’Cause we All Just Wanna be Rock Stars’ is certain to appeal to young people involved in making music in Mayo or who may even by considering making music their career. The talk will take place in Ballina Arts Centre on Saturday November 15 2008 between 1pm and 3pm. So whether you are wondering how to go about setting up a group, how to book gigs or how to go about making your first demo, all this and more is up for debate in Ballina.
