Galway-inspired global organ donor event to be held in Salthill today
Galway will be among a number of cities participating today (Nov 30) in an Irish-led global commemorative event taking place at which organ donors and their families will be remembered, and their generosity acknowledged. This global event involves an inter-city gifting of stone sculpted candles, symbolising the light of humanity shone through donation, and will also include the reading of an open letter expressing the deep sense of appreciation and gratitude felt by society to organ donors and their families.

As I advised last week we reconvened the council on Monday last to ensure that we completed the council agenda for the November sitting. The quarterly reports for both Environment Dept transport Dept and Recreation and Amenity Departments were presented. This resulted in lively debate on a host of issues such as public services and availability to the public of a host of public amenities.
Message from the Mayor
The November meeting of Galway City council was held last Monday and once again we did not get through the agenda. As a result I proposed a motion that we meet again next Monday at 11am for a special sitting of council and continue on until we clear the agenda. This was passed with a narrow margin.
