Wristcrafts from Gaelcholáiste Chomáin, Ros Dumhach and Simply Achill from Coláiste Pobail , Achill were acclaimed as joint winners of the Údarás na Gaeltachta – Company of the Year Regional Final, which was held in Arás Inis Gluaire, Belmullet recently. 150 Students from five secondary schools in the Gaeltacht region in Mayo competed in final, showcasing a range of innovative business ideas, which were created by the young entrepreneurs.
Mayo students pick up DCU scholarships
Five Mayo students have been presented with €1,000 academic scholarships to study at Dublin City University. The scholarships were awarded to the following students in recognition of them achieving 550 points or more in the Leaving Certificate.
Visiting restrictions in place at Mayo University Hospital
Visiting restrictions are in place at Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar due to a number of patients displaying symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting usually caused by norovirus, commonly known as the winter vomiting bug.
