The Mayo Football League are pleased to announce two "Special Guests" for their annual presentation dinner in the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport on Saturday night January 20. 

The Mayo Football League has announced the latest award winners for September/October.

The possibility of having a Mayo League team in action in the League of Ireland in the next few years is one of the major aims of the new five year plan for the league that was launched last Saturday. The plan's executive summary outlined the steps to such a possability happening, stating: "We want to provide a pathway for our elite players and coaches to progress to the top of the domestic game. The Mayo Football League believes that a Mayo representative team should play in the SSE Airtricity U17 League by 2017, the U19 League by 2019, and shortly afterwards the Mayo Football League will apply to join the First Division of SSE Airtricity League."

The Mayo Football League has announced that the recipients of the prestigious Henry Downes Service to Football Awards for 2015 are Patrick English from Achill Rovers and Gerry Knight, Ballina Town. Padraig McHale, chairman Mayo Football League, said: “I would like to congratulate Patrick English and Gerry Knight on winning this prestigious award. They are certainly worthy recipients as both have given a lifetime of service to the game and are highly respected within the county and beyond. It is fitting that an award named after such a great servant is bestowed upon two gentlemen of the game.’’

This time last season Iorras Aontaithe were on the brink of relegation and they needed a moment of magic to spark their season into life. Thankfully they survived and maintained their position in the upper echelons of the Mayo Football League.
