St Martin’s managed to overcome a spirited second-half resurgence from O’ Loughlin Gaels at Nowlan Park last weekend, as the Saints saw out a hard-fought victory in the senior hurling league shield final.

O'Loughlin Gaels remain on course for automatic qualification to the knockout stages of the 2011 championship with a good win over Tullaroan at the weekend. Again the O'Loughlin’s talisman was Mark Bergin who scored an impressive 12 points. There were some very good performance all around the field for O'Loughlin’s including those from Niall Bergin and Martin Comerford.

O'Loughlin Gaels displayed excellent fighting spirit to overcome a gallant Erin's Own in round two of the 2011 St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Championship, played in Ballyragget on Friday last. O'Loughlin’s started very slowly. They were unsure and were like a team a bit off the pace.

O'Loughlin’s played four matches on the way to the final, beating John Lockes of Callan, Thomastown, Clara and Freshford en route. In the final they met city rivals James Stephens.

2010 Kilkenny senior hurling champions O'Loughlin Gaels played their first round Leinster club championship match in Portlaoise last Sunday against Laois Champions, Rathdowney-Errill.

Ballyhale Shamrocks’ dreams of achieving a record breaking five-in-a-row of Kilkenny SHC titles were quashed on Sunday afternoon last when a late goal from Niall McEvoy powered O'Loughlin Gaels to the final following a 2-16 to 3-10 win at Nowlan Park.
