It was a tough day for every competitor in Tullamore on Saturday last as blisteringly hot near 30° temperatures made for gruelling conditions for all participants.

The Connacht Indoor Athletics Championships for seniors and masters were held at Athlone TUS arena on Saturday evening February 19.

All competitors were restricted to one event which was hard on multi-discipline participants, as well as those who would normally run two or three races over the afternoon.

At the Connacht Indoors Senior Masters, at Athlone AIT, there was a total of 142 participants (senior/master) competing in 18 events for men and women. This championship competition was held on Saturday, February 22.

Mayo AC were well represented at the annual masters indoor track and field Championships on Sunday last at Athlone Arena. Eight members competed in a range of events – 25 in total – and added to the 2017 National medals toll they have accumulated so far in intermediate cross country at Tuam in January and masters' cross country in Waterford last month.
