In an exciting and very close finish to the Spring Trios Bowling League at KBowl in MacDonagh Junction, the 200’s prevailed by just two points from the Pin Killers.

Pin Killers were the front runners for much of the Tuesday Trios Bowling League at KBowl but they were pushed all the way and had to dig deep in the end. On Tuesday night they were crowned champions and received the €600 prize money for first place.

After the top of the table clash at KBowl on Tuesday night the Pin Killers have one hand on the trophy. In a tight game they beat Galacticus 3 – 2. Leaving them on 28 points overall after round 7. Galacticus remain in second spot on 22 points.

Athlone Community College students Michelle McHugh, Mark Roche, Sorcha McManus, and Gavin Ward, along with school principal Eileen Donohoe, recently returned from an eye-opening trip to Rwanda in Africa. The trip was awarded as their prize for winning the 2010 Concern All-Ireland debating competition.
