O'Loughlin’s camogie girls reach county final

The hardworking O'Loughlin Gaels’ under 10 teams won the finals of the county board organised ‘Go Games Leagues’ on Saturday last in Nowlan Park. They beat Freshford in two thrilling games full of skill and lots of enthusiasm.

O'Loughlin Gaels remain on course for automatic qualification to the knockout stages of the 2011 championship with a good win over Tullaroan at the weekend. Again the O'Loughlin’s talisman was Mark Bergin who scored an impressive 12 points. There were some very good performance all around the field for O'Loughlin’s including those from Niall Bergin and Martin Comerford.

O'Loughlin Gaels displayed excellent fighting spirit to overcome a gallant Erin's Own in round two of the 2011 St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Championship, played in Ballyragget on Friday last. O'Loughlin’s started very slowly. They were unsure and were like a team a bit off the pace.

The Marion Fitzgerald Memorial Tournament took place on Saturday with twenty two teams taking part on the day. O'Loughlin’s entered two teams — O'Loughlin’s Green and O'Loughlin’s White.

O'Loughlin Gaels supporters will not want to miss the clash of their newly crowned Leinster champions and Ulster and Antrim champions Loughiel Shamrocks on Saturday, February 19 in Parnell Park, Dublin. Both teams played challenge games against county sides at the weekend and are preparing as best they can for the eagerly awaited clash.
