Liam Mellows GAA Club will host its first charity event of the year on Saturday June 21 at the clubhouse in Ballyloughane.

A new state-of-the-art all-weather sports facility recently opened in the grounds of Liam Mellows GAA Club at Ballyloughane in Renmore.

The Astrobay all weather sports facility, located in the grounds of Liam Mellows GAA Club, Ballyloughane, Renmore is available to rent for team training and chidlren’s themed parties.

Liam Mellows GAA Club will host a special family day on Saturday (June 19) as part of a major fundraising drive for its club redevelopment.

•Liam Mellows GAA Club, which celebrated its 75th birthday last year, is to launch the next phase of its development at the club grounds at Ballyloughane, Renmore. After securing planning permission last year, the club is now beginning development of a 4.5 acre portion of land, adjacent to the existing pitch at Ballyloughane, to provide an additional playing field. As part of this development, Liam Mellows GAA Club will be constructing a shoreline walkway for public use across the club's facilities. On Sunday (January 25) the club will host an official ceremony at 12 noon to mark the turning of the soil, to be conducted by Seán Duggan, former Galway hurling legend and a long standing member of Liam Mellows.
