Short films about climate action, hearing, and water were to the fore when young science filmmakers from Donegal, Dublin, Cork, Galway, Offaly, Sligo, and Meath were honoured at the ReelLIFE SCIENCE Video Competition Awards held at the recent Galway Science and Technology Festival Exhibition in NUI Galway.

Castlebar radio station receives national awards

Two programmes on CRCfm have been honoured with awards at a special Craol National Community radio event in Dublin. Katie’s Hitmix received a distinction award for the promotion of young local musicians. The programme, presented by Katie Hughes from Attymass, a second year student of video and sound technology at Limerick Institute of Technology, is broadcast every Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6pm on the Castlebar based radio station. In their remarks, the adjudicators said the programme ably showcases the wealth of young musical talent in Mayo, promoting the best of the local music scene.
