On your bike to save a life - along the Wild Atlantic Way

The Complete Wild Atlantic Way Challenge 2020 will take place from August 17 to 30 starting in Derry and finishing up in Cork - with over 2,500km to be covered over 14 days.

The challenge is organised by Johnny Oosten, who already has completed this Journey Of A Lifetime in 2017 and 2018.

Johnny explained: "I first undertook this challenge in 2017 with Katie Hughes, Patrick McGowan and Norman Monaghan. For somebody who prefers climbing mountains rather than cycling, it was a learning experience but I enjoyed it so much.

"Again in 2018 it was back on the bike, this time with Tommie Moran, Trish Moran and Caolan Gavin. The Wild Atlantic Way is described as a journey of a lifetime, which is why I am doing it three times..

"This event would not be not possible without the support of hotels and guest houses at each stage stop who all have sponsored our accommodation, and a sincere thank you to NovaVita Distribution Ireland, who is our main sponsor and MW Design Print Signs, Claremorris, Co Mayo.

"We have set up an iDonate page for the event and our chosen charity is Pieta House https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11382490_wild-atlantic-way-challenge-2020.html. With Covid restrictions this event will have a team of ten taking in the entire journey. For more details email [email protected].
