Joyce Mathias, the Green Party candidate for the Galway City East in the coming election, has expressed profound gratitude for her nomination for the Mayor’s Award and appreciates the initiative to award people for their contributions to community and humanity. Speaking further on the nomination, she said that she never knew she was being noticed.

The Green Party plans to win a seat in every county, including Galway City East in the June local elections for the first time ever. The target was announced as more than 500 party members gathered in the RDS for a convention which urged voters to Keep Going Green.

Everybody in Galway will have a chance to get cash when they recycle old bottles and cans thanks to a new scheme introduced by the Green Party which begins today Thursday.

Several hundred Galway residents attended a rally on Saturday in Eyre Square to highlight racism. Galway Communities Against Racism and Discrimination organised the event which was supported by many groups including Amach!LGBT+, members of the migrant community, including those living in Direct Provision, and the Green Party.

The Galway Green Party has selected its candidates to run in the next local election, which will take place in 2024.
