Adrian O’Dwyer, Kilkenny City Harriers (KCH), made a welcome return to competition at the senior indoor competition in The Odyssey Arena in Belfast at the weekend. Bowing out with a silver medal, having cleared 2.10m, will not have had him jumping for joy.

The event was Woodies DIY senior track and field championships held over the two days, Saturday and Sunday. Friday night was awards night for the County Kilkenny athletics community. Athletes, family members, and friends gathered in The Parish Pump, Rosbercon, where they dined lavishly on the fine fare laid on by host club, St Joseph’s, under the guidance of super-cook Trudy Power.
