A number of Athlone based people successfully completed the NISO Health and Safety Certificate Course in Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) and were awarded certification at a presentation held in the Prince of Wales Hotel.

NISO Midland branch held their presentation of certificates for the ‘Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety’ course in the Prince of Wales hotel in Athlone. Hosted by Athlone Institute of Technology from February to June, 16 participants successfully completed the course.

Galway harpist Úna Ní Fhlannagáin, from Craughwell in Galway originally but now living in Bearna, took home the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal for harp in the final broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta from Cork.
