There’s a tendency for the word ‘unique’ to be bandied around a little too freely in music circles, but that is the only way to describe Jerry Fish’s genre bending style. Jerry’s live shows have been known to transform sedate tux ‘n’ frock audiences into Roman galley slaves rowing their way through ‘The Hole In the Boat’, or ballroom-of-romancers slow-dancing to ‘Back To Before’, or swampy block parties gyrating to bacchanalian classics like ‘Celebrate’.

World, European, and Irish premieres in theatre and dance, leading international rock bands, the best in Irish comedy, and an array of international street theatre will all feature in this year’s Galway Arts Festival which takes place from Monday July 15 to Sunday 28.

SOUND AND VISION will combine to dramatic effect when Dublin trio Elevens take to the stage of Monroe’s Live tomorrow at 9.30pm.

BUSKER BRTOWNE’S on Cross Street will host another night of stand-up comedy at it’s new comedy club along with music gigs ranging from rock to jazz.

Ballina Arts Centre presents one of Ireland’s most high profile artists, Jerry Fish, live tonight, November 2 at 8pm. He came to prominence as the frontman of An Emotional Fish, (and gave us the rock anthem ‘Celebrate’). Two decades on, he is still producing widely loved, upbeat, music including the hit single ‘True Friends’ and two platinum selling albums Be Yourself and The Beautiful Untrue.
