Last Saturday was a memorable day for Kilkenny schools as Grennan College (Thomastown), Loreto Kilkenny and Castlecomer Community School all recorded All-Ireland victories in Trim Co Meath. The day began with Grennan College landing honours in the Roinn B title defeating St Louis Ballymena 4-9 to 3-3. Grennan playing into the breeze during the opening-half led 3-2 to 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals from Aine Lannon, Niamh Donnelly and Kelly Hamilton.

The authorities in the GAA will be rubbing their hands in delight after last week’s National Hurling League results.
