Monaghan’s Niall Maguire and Enda Sherry stormed to an emphatic victory on Sunday’s Hotel Ballina and Kennedy Motors Mayo Stages Rally, finishing just over a minute ahead of their nearest rivals Frank Wray and Kieran McGrath. Reigning Mayo Autocross champion Peter McCullagh carried on from where he finished 2011, with victory on Mayo and District Motorsport Club’s Loose Surface Autocross on Sunday. The Maynooth driver was the class of the field in his Mitsubishi Evo 9, recording a comfortable winning margin of over two seconds over his rivals after a fine final run over the challenging 4.6 kilometre circuit at Harrington’s Quarry, The Valley, Swinford.

Tim McNulty tightened his grip on the Dunlop National Rally Championship when his domination continued in Galway at the weekend.

Twelve months on and there was no watching from the sidelines. This time around the genial Kildare man not just won the Mayo Stages Rally, he dominated it.

Last weekend's Donegal Harvest Rally was the final round of the 2010 HASS Border Rally Championship and resulted in success for a number of Mayo competitors.
