Mayo artwork is a Texaco sixtieth anniversary calendar choice
A painting by six-year old Mayo student Emily Walsh, a pupil at Castlebar Art School, has been chosen to illustrate a 2014 calendar published to mark the 60th anniversary the Texaco Children’s Art Competition which occurs next year.

Rachel embraces a whole new world of independent living in Monksland
Ballyforan native Rachel Kelly has a hectic social life between attending her local gym, meeting friends for drinks, soccer training, and regular trips to the local Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 23-year-old woman but the extraordinary thing is that Rachel is one of the first participants in StepIn, a unique supported living network for people with learning disabilities.
Owning school produces its own unique sound
The sound of music will resonate around Owning (near Piltown) in South Kilkenny at the beginning of next month when schoolchildren from the local school will launch a CD of original songs penned by Mullinavat songwriter Ned Egan.
