In association with the Westport Get Out There Adventure Festival, the Westport Festival of Sport fun day, with the theme of sport for all, takes place on the Mall, Westport, from August 19 to 22. The event, now in its second year, is coordinated by the Mayo Sports Partnership and promises to be a day full of fun and activity.

Details have just been announced of the 2009 Mayo News/Mayo Sports Partnership Team Challenge taking place as part of the Westport Festival of Sport Fun Day on Sunday August 23 at the Mall area in Westport. The challenge is in its fourth year and the organisers, Mayo Sports Partnership co-ordinator Charlie Lambert, GMIT lecturer in outdoor education Kevin O’Callaghan, and director of Achill Outdoor Adventure Centre Tim Daly, promise a challenging event full of fun and intrigue for all.
