Galway athletes thriving on the international stage
Emma Moore of Galway City Harriers placed seventh in a competitive heat over 800m individually, and later in the championships was instrumental on the Women's 4x400m team who set a new national U23 record in their heat. The quartet of Moore, Kate O'Connell (Lucan Harriers), Victoria Amiadamen (Dooneen AC), and Jenna Breen (City of Lisburn AC) clocked a time of 3:34.81 to dip under the previous record (3:34.87) set in 2017.

Tuam AC's Newell scores new PB in Czechia
Matthew Newell of Tuam AC competed at the European Race Walking Team Championships in Podebrady in Czechia last weekend. Newell raced in the U20 10km and recorded a new personal best of 44:52 as he finished in 19th place.
