AS THE year draws to a close, it seems everything is happening for Dublin rapper Malaki. In September came his EP, DFTTYM; last month saw a duet with Tolü Makay, and December sees him play Galway.

It was surprised that a member of its upper class should have ventured alone into the viper’s nest. She was invited to balls and receptions mainly as a curiosity. One hostess told her outright that she was nothing but ‘a Bolshevik’, and a suspicion persisted that she was a spy, a fact that Clare did little to contradict. But despite a critical reception on the surface, her book From Mayfair to Moscow* was eagerly snapped up.

 When Clare Sheridan bought Spanish Arch House in the late autumn of 1946, she was seeking refuge from an eventful life, to find peace and quiet to continue her sculpture, and needed time to give expression to her religious fervour. She had recently converted to Catholicism, and could not resist telling anyone who listened ‘how exciting it was to be a Catholic.’

THE OPACAS, the virtual band featuring members from Galway and Leeds released their second single, 'She Walks Away', along with a video featuring an array of local acting talent.

THE PUBLICATION of Karl MacDermott's short story collection Juggling With Turnips – in which there is little juggling, other than the metaphorical sort, and not one single turnip – sees the comedy writer and occasional stand-up, widen his repertoire by adding ‘writer of short comic fiction’ to the list of things he successfully does.

SILENT MOVES, a film inspired by the silent comedies of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and Harold Lloyd, and starring actors with intellectual disabilities, will be shown in the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday October 20 at 8pm.
