The Athlone 3/4 marathon is taking place on Sunday October 2. With over 500 people anticipated to take part, benefitting charity Irish Wheelchair Association are looking forward to a great day out. The Athlone 3/4 marathon is a fantastic Dublin City Marathon preparation event. It’s four weeks before the city event and provides an ideal stepping stone from the half-marathon distance. The course takes in magnificent lakeside views around Lough Ree, quiet country roads, and local historical sites.
