As part of National BIke Week 2023, St Hilda’s Services Athlone hosted a ‘Pedal Power’ 5km community event on Friday afternoon last.

National Bike Week returns to Mayo from Saturday, May 14 to Sunday, May 22. Mayo Sports Partnership, in conjunction with the local Bike Week steering committee, invites you to 'Click into Gear' and participate in some of the 25 events taking place throughout Mayo.

Also known as ‘Slí na gCaisleán’ (‘The Way of the Castles’) the event represents a guided off-the-beaten-track heritage cycle excursion along a looped trail across beautiful countryside that encompasses seven castles on the north and eastern side of Galway city and on into Galway county.

Mayo Sports Partnership in association with Mayo County Council is currently inviting applications from community groups for funding to assist with the organisation of a cycling themed event during Bike Week 2019, which will take place from June 22 to 30. The objective of Bike Week is to celebrate cycling in all its forms and to get more people participating in cycling both for transport and recreation.

National Bike Week returns to Mayo this summer from Saturday June 9, to Sunday June 17, where you can enjoy eight days on two wheels celebrating and promoting all that is great about cycling.

Saturday is the start of the week-long Galway Bike Festival, which aims to raise the profile of cycling as a healthy and fun way of commuting and physical activity for all age groups.
