O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers has just launched its midsummer auction which will take place on June 27 in the Harbour Hotel, Galway. The auction will be split into a morning and afternoon session.

The widow of a farmer who died as a result of negligent medical treatment was last week awarded almost €1.6m in damages because of the loss of an expected inheritance of a 623-acre farm, after she sued two Galway-based consultants.

The eighth Burren Annual exhibition opens on Saturday at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Co Clare. Curated by Josephine Kelliher, the event features a collaborative project from artist Marie Hanlon and composer Rhona Clarke linking the visual arts and music. The exhibition features both individual and collective pieces, prompted by and developed in response to the unique environment of the Burren. 

Galway Arts Festival will showcase a wealth of local talent this year with several young and emerging bands, all with strong Galway links, supporting major headline acts Blondie, De La Soul, Bell X1, and AfroCubism at the Festival Big Top.

A new cookbook, Inside the Italian Kitchen by Italian chef Marco Roccasalvo and food writer Anne Kennedy, will be launched in L’Arco Italian restaurant in Ballyvaughan on Monday March 28 at 7.30pm. Marco Roccasalvo will also host a cookery demonstration on Tuesday, March 29 at 7pm in L’Arco.
