Communities across Mayo get growing
Seventy-two community based food-growing projects, including voluntary groups, residents associations, schools, and hospitals are to benefit from grants of up to €5,000 from the GIY (Grow It Yourself) Get Ireland Growing Fund, in partnership with AIB. Four community food projects in Mayo received funding including Ballyhaunis Community Garden.
Ballyhaunis centre awarded €8,000 from Ulster Bank
The Ballyhaunis Family Resource Centre has been awarded €8,000 in funding as part of the Ulster Bank Community Impact Fund. Launched in February, in association with the Community Foundation for Ireland, voluntary and community organisations were invited to submit applications for funding.
Childcare services launched in Ballyhaunis
Dara Calleary, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with responsibility for Labour Affairs launched two early childcare services, operated in partnership between HSE West Early Childcare Services and the Ballyhaunis Family Resource Centre at St Mary’s Augustinian Abbey, Ballyhaunis, last week.
