One lucky individual is to win a €500 shopping spree in Ballyhaunis as part of a fundraising campaign to light the town up for Christmas.

A large number of community buildings, local authority premises, homes and sports facilities in Mayo have been approved for funding under the 2014 Better Energy Communities and Area Projects 2014. A total of €700,000 has been allocated to projects in Mayo by the Energy Authority of Ireland for these projects which will be carried out on buildings in Ballina, Erris, Castlebar, Mayo Abbey and Ballycastle.

An indoor craft fair, organised by the Ballyhaunis Chamber of Commerce, will be held in the Parochial Hall, Ballyhaunis, on Sunday November 29 from 11am to 8pm.

Ballyhaunis hurlers will play the Galway Intermediate Champions in the Connacht Club hurling final on Sunday November 15 in Athleague. Ballyhaunis Chamber of Commerce wishes the team every success and encourages business shops and supporters to display flags for the occasion.
