Team Loftus Recycling get ready for season tip-off
The new basketball season gets under way on Saturday night in Ballina Sports and Leisure Centre (tip-off 7.30pm) when the home team, Loftus Recycling, host Blue Demons, Cork, in the opening round of division one in the National Basketball League. The Ballina side also have their second and third round fixtures at home as they entertain Garvey’s St Mary’s (Tralee) on Saturday week, October 9, and Ballon (Carlow) the following Saturday night, October 16.
Mayo AC launch web site
Mayo AC have just announced the launch of their new website www.mayoac.com. The website will feature information on all aspects of the club’s activities and is a welcome addition as the club expands on all fronts. Club chairman Michael Mc Grath pointed out that, while the website has been online for some time, recently it has received a major revamp thanks mainly to the great work done by club website coordinators TJ Mc Hugh, Catherine Conway, and others.
Loftus Recycling bid for cup semi-final place
Team Loftus Recycling host Maree, from Oranmore, Galway, in the quarter-final of the Men’s Senior Cup at Ballina Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday evening with tip-of at 8pm. With Ronan McGarrity lining out for the side in the National Cup, the Ballina club see themselves as having a real opportunity to claim some national silverware this year, but they can expect a very tough match on Saturday night from a side that has been very impressive in their first season at senior, national level.
