World Alzheimer Month takes place this month of September and latest figures compiled by the Health Service Executive reveal that there is an estimated 2,279 people living with dementia in Mayo.

Oughterard fundraiser to help people with Alzheimer’s disease

A fundraiser spearheaded by a Co Galway woman who lost her mother to dementia has raised €4,000 for a local Alzheimer charity.

Galway Alzheimer Café

The Alzheimer Café is an initiative being started up by The Alzheimer Society of Ireland Galway branch. The first café will be held in Flannery’s Hotel, Renmore, Galway, on Thursday December 3 from 2pm to 4pm.
