On Valentine’s Day, teams of people will be packing shopping bags in Dunnes Stores around the country and the Irish Heart Foundation is looking for volunteers who can give a few hours of their day to this effort.

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, has announced that he has allocated €778,496 to Mayo County Council for improvements to rural non-public roads in Mayo under the 2019 Local Improvement Scheme (LIS), which is overseen by the Department of Rural and Community Development.

A call-out has been issued to remind all organisations across the town and county to get involved in Castlebar's Annual St Patricks Day parade, taking place on Sunday March 17.
According to the organising committee, the event will start promptly at 2pm at its usual starting point at MacHale Road in the town. Participants, floats and bands are asked to assemble at the Sportlann end of McHale Road at 1.15pm.
