SVDP food hampers

Due to a change in policy, as from this year, St Deirbhle's Conference / Belmullet area St Vincent de Paul will no longer automatically distribute Christmas food hampers to residences. Individuals or families who are in need of a food hamper are requested to fill out an application form which will be made available from all Erris churches over the coming weeks or contact Maureen on 086 082 2855. Applications will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.

Westport Civic Trust news

The next talk in the winter series of lectures will be by Dr Kevin Lysaght, who will discuss the recent excavations in Ballycroy, and the finds that have been made there. Would you like to learn Irish?

An absolute beginners class is starting in Belmullet town in January. Spaces are limited so contact Amy on 097 20828 or email [email protected] to reserve your place. The course is accredited by Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (the European Certificate in Irish). Dates are to be confirmed but sessions will run weekly during lunchtime from January until April. The course is designed for absolute beginners so no experience is necessary.

This group come together to discuss issues and topics that affect their lives in a social and confidential setting. The meetings are every Tuesday morning from 11am to 1pm.
