Classes are held on Thursdays at the Courthouse Hotel, Ballina, from 12 noon to 2pm and 6pm to 7.30pm and also in Hiney’s Crossmolina from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Computer classes

There are still a few places left for the computer class which will be held in the Cosgallen office in Charlestown. The course will be held one night a week, two hours per night for eight weeks. The cost is €70. This course is part funded by the VEC.

Healthy Heart Day

Heart Smart is a free cardiovascular check up that is available to everyone over 40 years who has not attended a GP in the last year for a cholesterol check. It will be held on Tuesday March 24 in Cosgallen from 9.30am to 4pm.

Badminton classes

A four-week badminton programme is starting up in the sports hall at St Coleman’s College, Claremorris, on Wednesday March 11 until Wednesday April 1 at 8.30pm each night. The cost will be just €3 per night.

Croí talk in Westport

West of Ireland heart specialist Dr Jim Crowley will give a public talk entitled Preventing and Treating Heart Disease in the West of Ireland in Hotel Westport, Newport Road, Westport, on Wednesday, March 11 at 8pm. The presentation will be followed by an open forum for questions and answers.
