Conway Motors in Castlebar has been awarded the Citroën & DS Ireland Dealer of the Year Award 2015, from a network of 21 authorised dealerships nationwide. Dealer Principal, Padraic Conway was officially presented with the award by Chris Graham, Managing Director, Citroën and DS Ireland at the 2015 Dealer Conference which took place at I.M. Group Head Offices, Birmingham last week.

New Honda Jazz and HR-V models arriving

Honda has announced prices for the new Honda Jazz supermini and the stunning new Honda HR-V subcompact crossover.

The new Jazz will be priced from €17,395 for the entry-level SE model, rising to €21,900 for the flagship EX CVT model, while the new HR-V will be priced from €23,995 for the 1.5 i-VTEC petrol, and from €25,995 for the frugal 1.6 i-DTEC diesel.

More powerful Seat Leon Cupra 290

The Seat Leon Cupra and the SC coupé and five-door hatchback version were recently joined here by the versatile ST version. And now the Leon Cupra has been given a power boost, delivering up to a maximum of 290 PS.

Seat says the new Cupra 290 with optional DSG transmission catapults from zero to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds, and in 5.8 seconds with the manual gearbox. Top speed is limited electronically to 250km/h.

Ann and Peter Carter from Killawalla, Westport, picked up the keys to their 10th Renault this week at JJ Burke Renault, a new 152 Renault Captur Signature finished in flame red. Ms Carter, who has been driving Renaults for numerous years, said: “I always like the Renaults, from their style and more importantly their comfort. I have been driving Renaults since 1994 and this will be my 10th one.  The Renault Captur is the perfect choice for me as I was looking for something with height which the Captur boasts, as well as style.”

Car sales in Mayo are continuing to show strong growth, according to the latest Motor Industry Review by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry and Done Deal.

The first quarter report for 2015 shows that new car sales in Mayo are up by 30.9 per cent, compared to the same period in 2014. This saw 1,331 cars sold in the first three months of this year compared to 1,017 last year.
