It’s about to get very, very loud - And So I Watch You From Afar are coming back
Fri, Mar 15, 2013
Finbar Hoban Presents...And So I Watch You From Afar’s Live at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar this May Bank Holiday weekend. And So I Watch you From Afar release their highly talked about third album today March 15 titled All Hail Bright Futures.
All Hail Bright Futures could be taken as both an ethos for the album and the band. There is a new colour scheme in place: new textures, emotions, sounds and voices. The 12-track, 43 minute, album is dominated by a sunnier disposition, a positive uplift that more closely matches the euphoria the Northern Ireland trio have been instilling in audiences through their music in a live setting for the last five years.

Congratulations are due to all of the sixth class pupils in the Quay School, Westport, who recently took part in a production of Grease - The Musical. The school hall was full to capacity for each nights performance. More than 250 people attended the show and were stunned at the standard of performance. Some 30 children began rehearsals last January and continued each week until mid-February. A large number of parents were involved with this production and their commitment was second to none. As the performances approached, rehearsals took place twice weekly and eventually a third practice session was included. The sixth class pupils had been working diligently with the production team to include as many original hits from the musical as possible. On many occasions the audience were on their feet to sing along with the show and as the fun came to an end the audience again rose to their feet and accorded the children several standing ovations. Thanks are to go out to all of the production team: Tia Crowley, Loretta Kerrigan, Ann Mc Hale, Judy Fahy, Alice Lennon and Ann Mc Hale. Thanks also to their class teacher Susan Murray and to the large number of parents who helped in so many ways. A particular word of thanks to Etna Doherty who painted various backdrops on the stage.
